Menu for The Week of September 11, 2010

It’s cooled off in much of the U.S. this past week, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get as hot as it was in July and August again.  For some of you, it may be more comfortable to cook inside; for others, it may be perfect grilling weather.  So many of this week’s menus include instructions for both.

Most of this week’s menus also involve grilling (or roasting) the side along with the main dish.  We’ve got Italian chicken and pork chops; Asian pork chops; Tex-Mex steaks; and a couple of quick, no-cook main course salads: one a sort of Caribbean fusion and the other a twist on an Italian classic.  Bonus this week is Orange-Poppyseed Cake that will stay fresh at least four days–but it won’t last that long!
