The garden growing season is well underway, but it’s not too late to put things in, if you haven’t done it yet, especially if you buy plants. Were I to pick any one thing, it would be herbs—probably chives or thyme. I use so many of them that it’s a lot cheaper to grow them than to buy them!
This week we’ve got a mix of Italian things, like a familiar Cacciatore—only this one is pork, and it’s made in the slow cooker (put it in your garage or on the deck if your house will get too hot from this). There’s also a grilled Italian chicken dish from a popular restaurant in St. Louis. France is here, with Bistro Burgers and a main course salad of Spinach, Ham, Avocado with a White Balsamic vinaigrette. We’ll deconstruct some guacamole to serve with grilled steak, and do some Chinese-inspired chicken on the grill with a tea marinade! Finally, we’ll have some great Greek fish, with sun-dried tomatoes and Greek olives evoking a sunny day on the coast. Bonus this week is mini Coconut Cupcakes you can take to pitch-ins or use for birthday celebrations.
